Senior Congress leader Randeep Surjewala said in a tweet on Thursday, that the party decided not to send its spokespersons to television debates for a month. He added that all the media channels and editors are requested to not place Congress representatives on their television shows.

The other said Kalraj Mishra threatened to shoot some protesting BJP cadre dead. Both were pieces of satire published on the occasion of Holi. Passing them off as facts made the Congress tweets classic cases of fake news.

A day after BJP MP Rajeev Chandrasekhar pointed out the diary scam in the Congress where crores of money was paid to the Congress high command, the Congress has come out with a similar narrative. The BJP however has stated that probe findings prove that allegations are false.
