The arrests came days after the NIA carried out raids at seven locations in the city and arrested Mohammed Azarudeen, the alleged mastermind of ISIS Tamil Nadu module

After continued raids and detention, three suspected ISIS supporters have now been detained in Tamil Nadu’s Coimbatore. This after the arrest of Mohammed Azharuddin who is believed to be an aide to the mastermind behind the Easter Sunday blasts in Sri Lanka.
 

Even after arresting Sri Lanka Easter Sunday blast accused Zahran Hashim’s friend, Mohammed Azharuddin and detaining six others, the National Investigation Agency continued to conduct raids across Coimbatore.

NIA sources claim that the arrested suspected has been inspired by ISIS ideologies. Raids are underway in 8 locations in Coimbatore.

A team of NIA officials arrived in Coimbatore from Kochi and have been conducting searches in residences of those suspected to have links with the terror group ISIS.

The IT Department had on October 11 searched Bahl’s premises. Sleuths from the IT department had raided the residence of Bahl in neighbouring Noida early morning and searched for documents and other evidence related to the case under probe

The raid was conducted by a team consisting of RS Gopakumar, health supervisor of the Kozhikode corporation K Gopalan, health inspector K Dileep Kumar and junior health inspector K Shameer.
 

"The case relates to a group of ten persons from different parts of Tamil Nadu who had formed a WhatsApp group named "SHAHADAT IS OUR GOAL", NIA said
