Indian filmmaker Payal Kapadia has achieved a monumental milestone in global cinema by earning a nomination for Best Director at the 82nd Golden Globe Awards. Her film, All We Imagine As Light, has also secured a nomination in the Best Motion Picture-Non-English Language category. Kapadia's nomination marks the first time in 25 years that an Indian filmmaker has been recognized in the prestigious Best Director category—a feat last achieved by Shekhar Kapur in 1999 for Elizabeth.
