Pakistan’s F 16  

Air chief marshal RKS Bhadauria will award Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman’s 51 Squadron with unit citation for shooting down Pakistan’s F-16 days after the Pulwama attack. The award is slated to be received by commanding officer Group Captain Satish Pawar on October 8.

Months after the combat against Pakistan’s F-16 and landing on the side of Pakistan with several injuries, Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman has now begun flying the MiG 21 jet once again

The “irrefutable proof” by IAF consists of AWACS (Airborne Warning and Control System) radar images proving that the Pakistani aircraft was indeed shot down by Abhinandan’s MiG 21 Bison before his own aircraft went down in PoK area.

An F-16 aircraft of the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) was shot down by the Indian Air Force (IAF). An aircraft venturing into enemy territory is easily spotted by the radar systems and information is passed on to the missile system for retaliatory action
