On August 15, multiple countries celebrate significant national events, including independence from colonial powers and religious observances, alongside India’s independence.

From Afghanistan to Pakistan, these countries possess some of the weakest passports globally, limiting international travel opportunities for their citizens.

The US allows citizens of 38 countries -- including South Korea, Japan and France -- to enter for up to 90 days without a visa under a waiver programme.

New Delhi will be the first stop for the US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo's week long visit to the Indo-Pacific region. He's likely to meet with Prime Minister Narendra Modi to discuss Indo-US bilateral ties. 

This would be the second time that the US President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un have met. Trump said that the two countries would have been at “war” had he not been elected president.

Trump and Kim met in a historic summit in Singapore in June, where they signed a vaguely-worded document on denuclearisation of the peninsula.
