Nirmohi Akhara chief Mahant Dinendra Das Maharaj hailed Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union home minister Amit Shah for maintaining transparency and avoiding a rift between Hindus and Muslims

The Supreme Court said that it would finish the hearing on the Ayodhya case by October 18, which means that, before the CJI retires on November 17, the bench, headed by him, will have ample time to pronounce its verdict. 

The top court is hearing 14 appeals filed against the 2010 Allahabad high court judgment, delivered in four civil suits, that the 2.77-acre land in Ayodhya be partitioned equally among the three parties — the Sunni Waqf Board, the Nirmohi Akhara and Ram Lalla
 

The Akhara filed an application in the Supreme Court (SC) opposing Centre’s request to release excess land acquired in Ayodhya.
