After spending 47 days in hospital, a 23-year-old youth who had contracted the Nipah virus will be discharged on Tuesday. He was diagnosed with having contracted the Nipah Virus by Pune's National Institute of Virology on June 4.
 

The National Institute of Virology is yet to confirm the exact location where the virus surfaced

A medical bulletin stated that the second set of samples of the 23-year-old youth was sent to the National Institute of Virology (NIV), Pune for the final confirmation of results

 

On June 4, Pune’s National Institute of Virology had confirmed that the Kerala youth, who was admitted to a private hospital in Ernakulam with high fever for 10 days, had contracted Nipah virus
 

Sample of the seventh person, who showed symptoms of Nipah virus and is currently in the isolation ward, has also been sent for tests to the National Institute of Virology in Pune and the results are awaited.
