At around 3.20 pm, the security forces, moving towards the militants' hideout, came under heavy fire. Following this, an encounter broke out between the security forces and militants.
 

According to the security forces, this is not something common but the fear of elimination has brought different terror outfits like Hizbul Mujahideen and Jaish-e-Mohammed together.

Shahid Manzoor, the friend of Jamaat-e-Islami preacher Rizwan Asad Pandit, has reportedly joined terrorist organisation Hizbul Mujahideen. This comes as a big jolt especially after the security forces claimed recently that recruitment by terrorist organisations had gone down in Kashmir. 

Farooq Ahmad Bhat alias Umar is A+ category terrorist who had joined Hizbul Mujahideen in June 2015. He is believed to have been involved in radicalising and recruiting young Kashmiris to carry out terror strikes.

During preliminary interrogation, the accused revealed that he was tasked to throw the grenade by the Kulgam commander of terrorist organisation Hizbul Mujahideen.

Security agencies, with the arrest of the ISI agent, is expecting more folds in this case. The police is also working on the involvement of this ISI agent in the killing of twin BJP workers in Kishtwar

The successful operations that led to the high number of killings indicate that the terrorists are facing the heat. The militancy-infested districts of south Kashmir saw 133 terrorists being killed so far this year. The terrorists from outfits like Lashkar-e-Toiba, Jaish-e-Mohammad, Hizbul Mujahideen and Ansaar-Gazwatul Hind have been eliminated
