After a long battle within the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), the party MLA Alka Lamba has taken to Twitter to say that time has now come for her to bid goodbye and make an exit. This comes just days after a picture surfaced of her with Congress interim president Sonia Gandhi. 

Aam Aadmi Party's (AAP) disgruntled MLA Alka Lamba said she has decided to resign from the party ahead of the Delhi Assembly polls. After her visit to Congress leader Sonia Gandhi's residence, rumours suggest that the  disgruntled MLA will join the Congress 
 

Earlier, AAP's disgruntled MLA Alka Lamba had complained that her party had disrespected her on several occasions which prompted her to resign from the party and contest as an independent candidate in the upcoming Delhi Assembly polls.

The latest blow to the party was given by its most popular woman MLA Alka Lamba who not only challenged the party supremo for the party’s performance but also announced to quit the party in 2020 – the year of assembly elections in Delhi

Tension has been simmering between Lamba and her party since December when she was asked to quit the AAP over a state assembly resolution row. Lamba had reportedly said that her party colleagues were angry after she opposed a resolution aimed at withdrawing late prime minister Rajiv Gandhi's Bharat Ratna
