Normal life is affected in several cities through the country after the central trade unions called a two-day nation-wide general strike demanding for minimum wages and social security schemes among others

Members of Central Trade Unions have called a 2-day nation-wide strike demanding minimum wages and social security schemes among other things. In some places, protesters burnt tyres and vandalised buses. 

Records state Medak, Hanmakonda, Ramagundam and Hyderabad recorded minimum temperatures (past 24 hours) of 6, 9, 9, 9 degrees Celsius, respectively. Students of welfare hostels were provided blankets for relief
 

Karnataka farmers have been agitating in the state for over a week demanding an increase in the minimum support price of sugarcane

Chief minister HD Kumaraswamy has but received support from G Parameshwara, the deputy chief minister who, pacified the farmers. Parameshwara said that the state government would do everything in its capacity to help the farmers.

Farmers arrive in Bengaluru in large numbers to protest against meagre support price announced for sugarcane. Additional police force deployed to maintain law and order.

Farmers placed a garland of slippers on the banners that had pictures of people's representatives including Karnataka chief minister Kumaraswamy
