Addressing a press conference at the BJP headquarters in Mumbai, Maharashtra chief minister Devendra Fadnavis said that 15 Independent candidates are in touch with him. This comes after Shiv Sena's Uddhav Thackeray pushed for 50:50 formula.

BJP- Shiv Sena continue to lead in Maharashtra with leads on 99 and 60 assembly constituencies respectively. Counting of votes began at 8 am for the 288 seats in Maharashtra. The BJP had contested on 150 seats while Shiv Sena had fielded its candidates in 124 constituencies in the state.
