Lone Seat  

Nabam Rebia, who represented the state in the Rajya Sabha for two consecutive terms from 1996 to 2002 and again from 2002 to 2008 as a Congress member, had also served the state as an Assembly speaker and a Cabinet minister.
 

After winning the Theni seat in the Lok Sabha elections in Tamil Nadu, deputy chief minister’s son OP Ravindranath Kumar hit back at Congress's EVKS Elangovan who had said that he would prevent Ravindranath Kumar from taking oath. Ravindranath Kumar also assured that he would speak to the railway minister and seek immediate action on the Madurai Bodi railway project.

 

The coastal town of Kanyakumari in Tamil Nadu turns out to be a crucial constituency this election season. The BJP and the Congress face each other here. This was the lone seat that the BJP had won in 2014.
