The people of Pilibbhit are voting today in the third phase of Lok Sabha polls. Pilibhit has been the stronghold of Varun Gandhi's mother Maneka Gandhi, who has been elected as a lawmaker from there six times since 1989. But this time, her son is contesting. The people of Pilibhit talk about their issues and on what criteria they are voting this election season.

Voting for the third phase of the Lok Sabha elections is underway in Murshidabad, Balurghat, Maldaha Uttar, Maldaha Dakshin and Jangipur constituencies of Bengal.

It is just a desperate attempt by naxals to discourage the voting process, stated an officer, adding that despite the blast, the public are enthusiastically participating in the polling process.

For the third phase of polling, the Election Commission has set up 147 all-women polling stations in the four constituencies of Assam — 29 in Dhubri, 11 in Kokrajhar, 28 in Barpeta and 79 in Gauhati.

Third phase of polling begins today in 13 states and 2 Union Territories on Tuesday.

In Kerala, a total of 2,61,51,534 voters will exercise their right to vote in the Lok Sabha polls. Among them 1,34,66,521 are women, 1,26,84,839 men and 174 are transgenders.

 

Elections are being held in seven phases and with the completion of the third phase, the election process will be completed in southern states. 

Polling has begun for 20 Lok Sabha seats in Kerala. A total of 2,61,51,534 voters are expected to exercise their right to vote today (April 23)

With 237 candidates in the fray, 227 candidates are men and the remaining ten candidates are women

The Opposition, including Omar Abdullah and Mehbooba Mufti, have failed to see that the United Nations Security Council (UNSC), just as its initial report in 2009, still maintains that Lashkar-e-Taiba operative Arif Qasmani was behind the Samjhauta blast case and that the conspiracy was hatched in Pakistan.
