The year 2019 saw several turning points in Indian history. From revoking Jammu and Kashmir’s special status through abrogation of Article 370 to the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), here are five events of 2019 that became the most prominent political issues in India.

Though DMK’s victory in Vellore seemed to further stamp authority in Lok Sabha elections held in Tamil Nadu, the win margin compared to that of other constituencies won in April serves a warning sign for the MK Stalin-led party

The election to the Vellore Lok Sabha constituency began at 7:45 am today (August 5) with the city recording 72% voter turnout by the end of polling. Counting of votes will be held on August 9.
