Activist Bindu's parents have issued a public apology to Lord Ayyappa and Sabarimala devotees for their daughter’s 'mistake' of entering Sabarimala temple

Earlier, MyNation had reported that the Travancore Devaswom Board was in a dilemma over the proposition of filing a petition, pleading with the Supreme Court to review its order allowing women of all ages to enter the Sabarimala shrine of Lord Ayyappa. Within days, it had changed its decision from filing a review petition to supporting the existing petitions with a report.

Protesters are against the entry of women of menstruating age inside Sabarimala. They claim this is against tradition, custom, faith and belief of thousands of Ayyappa devotees.
 

Kerala chief minister mentioned that a thantri doesn't have any right to take any such decision. A thantri can only take decision on pujas of the temple, Vijayan said. Pandalam Palace representative Shashi Kumar Varma expressed his resentment over Vijayan's remark against the thantri.
 

A total of 19 review petitions have been brought before the court. The case will be heard next on October 23.

Opposition leader in Kerala Assembly Ramesh Chennithala said he failed to understand why one of the women was given a police riot gear while she was attempting to visit the shrine — when the law says anybody other than a police person wearing the uniform is a punishable offence 

Devaswom minister Kadakampally Surendran stressed on the fact that activists, who intend to make a political point, have no place in Sabarimala. And thus the government need not protect such people, he said.

BJP leader Shobha Surendran's supporters started to block the roads and began to protest seeking her release immediately. Surendran was arrested while protesting against the Sabarimala verdict.
