Kerala chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan stated that the BJP wants to destroy law and order of the state. He even threatened to arrest the protesters and criticised BJP's suggestion of implementing President's rule in the state. BJP activists call him a liar stating that the onus is on the common man to address the problems of the state.

The two women, who recently entered the Sabarimala shrine on January 1, which led to massive protests in Kerala, had stayed at a private lodge in Kodagu's Virajpet.

A dawn-to-dusk hartal was called by Sabarimala Karma Samithi and the Antarrashtriya Hindu Parishad (AHP), to protest against the entry of two women of menstruating age into the Sabarimala shrine

The ongoing Sabarimala protest that witnessed a sea of devotees coming in support to save the age-old tradition, took an intense turn after two women entered the Sabarimala temple. The protests also took a toll on Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation as 92 buses were stopped resulting in 10.16 revenue loss.
 

Protests against the entry of women in the Sabarimala temple turned violent after the CPI(M) and the BJP protesters fought in Thiruvananthapuram.  Four police officials were injured as bombs were hurled.

 
 

Earlier on December 23, Bindu and Kanakadurga attempted to visit the shrine but were taken back by the police due to security issues

Schools in some districts have declared holiday in the afternoon while universities have postponed examinations which were to be held on Tuesday amid allegations of misuse of official machinery, which the LDF has denied.

The women's wall is being created primarily to seek support on issues such as entry of women into the Sabarimala temple. Chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan has sent out invitations to over 150 social groups. The support for the women’s wall, however, seems to be crumbling.
 

The Kerala high court has set up a monitoring team consisting of two senior judges and a senior IPS officer, specialising in Sabarimala issues. The government will implement new decisions in Sabarimala under their direction.

Kerala police officials blocked a group of four transgenders who attempted to enter Sabarimala temple on Sunday morning.

The Kerala high court, while imposing the cost and dismissing Sobha  Surendran's petition, noted that the petition was filed with "mischievous intentions" and for seeking publicity
 

The women had come from Andhra along with a 15-member team and were informed of the situation at Sabarimala

The Kerala high court had questioned the state government why top police officers, accused in criminal cases, had been deployed in Sabarimala. The BJP had complained about the propriety of some top cops, too.
 

Union minister KJ Alphons Kannanthanam claimed that the Kerala government is responsible for the conflicts at Sabarimala temple and they failed to make basic arrangements for the devotees
