Kerala police officer  Ajas's kidneys were damaged when he attempted to set a woman cop ablaze on June 15. He was undergoing dialysis. Ajas confessed to the crime before he succumbed to injuries.

Aneesh, the man who was beaten by the police is a criminal according to sources. He was arrested for several cases including the one in which he attacked women and cases related to POCSO. As he was trying to escape from the police station, the police officer had to chase him and beat him.
