Supreme Court has asked the 10 rebel MLAs, lodged in Mumbai resort, to meet Karnataka Speaker by 6 pm today. It has also directed Speaker Ramesh Kumar to decide on the resignation letters today itself.

Anticipating this development, 10 of the 14 rebel MLAs who have quit their posts, and are holed up in a Mumbai resort, had submitted a letter to the Mumbai Police stating that they face threats of visits by Karnataka chief minister HD Kumaraswamy and DK Shivakumar

Senior Congress leader KC Venugopal said that the party has decided to request the Speaker to take the legal route and disqualify the rebel MLAs in Karnataka

21 ministers of the Karnataka government have resigned from their posts to make room for rebel MLAs. But before resigning as deputy chief minister, G Parameshwara who is adamant with his choice might sacrifice his post based on a condition or two.

Karnataka MLA who is suspended from the Congress party spoke to media and said that he will resign from the post of MLA.

Karnataka MLAs, including 10 of the Congress, two of the JD(S) and two Independents, left for Goa in the evening and are being accompanied by Mohit Bhartiya, president of the Mumbai BJP Yuva Morcha, sources said.

With minister Nagesh's resignation, the number of the Congress-JD(S) coalition will come down to 105 which is one MLA short of majority, if all resignations are accepted by the Speaker
