The anti-extortion cell (AEC) of Mumbai Police arrested a close aide of Dawood Ibrahim’s brother Anees Ibrahim. The arrest was made at Kannur airport in Kerala after he landed from Dubai.

 

Acting on a tip-off, the passenger Shaheeb Vattamparambil was caught while trying to push himself through the green channel, Customs Commissioner Sumit Kumar said.

Actor Joy Mathew criticised the Kerala government’s decision to not invite former chief ministers VS Achuthanandan and Oommen Chandy for the inauguration of Kannur airport. He said that the decision is a leader's arrogance without mentioning chief minister's Pinarayi Vijayan’s name.

With the Kannur international airport inaugurated on Sunday, it has made Kerala the only state in India to have four airports. But there have been protests over this despite the state’s achievement

BJP state cell coordinator said to media that Amit Shah would arrive at Kannur airport on Saturday morning in a private flight. 

The inauguration date was fixed as the Director General of Civil Aviation has granted commercial flight operation licence to the airport in Kannur, Kerala.

The flight, which started from Thiruvananthapuram at 9.45, touched down at Kannur international airport at 11.38 am.
