Manipur, Meghalaya, and Tripura are celebrating their statehood day today. These three states completed 48 years on January 21, 2020. Manipur, Meghalaya, and Tripura were granted state status under the North-Eastern Areas (Reorganization) Act, 1971 on 21 January 1972.

Earlier, the Prime Minister's Office said that the two Prime Ministers would jointly inaugurate the Integrated Check-Post (ICP) at Jogbani-Biratnagar border between the two countries on January 21.
