Independence Day Celebration  

Independence Day celebrations are on in full swing and people are looking for innovative ways to celebrate India’s 73rd Independence Day. A diver in Puducherry has gone underwater to hoist the tricolour.

Gujarat chief minister Vijay Rupani has stated that the government will open Army schools in areas that are dominated by the tribals. The move is in order to provide training for those who would want to be selected to serve the defence forces. 

Students in Rewari, Haryana, complained of making them stand under the scorching sun and not even giving them drinking water during the final rehearsals of Independence Day celebration events.

Arrangements for Independence Day are on in full swing at Palwal in Haryana. A final rehearsal was held at Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Stadium on August 13.

With Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa heading a "one-man" Cabinet with no Ministers, senior government officials have been asked to hoist the national flag on August 15 at district and taluk level functions.

A bomb threat in an aircraft heading to Saudi Arabia from Chennai sent airport authorities into a tizzy. Search was intensified and all aircraft heading to Saudi Arabia were searched but nothing suspicious was found.  The threat comes ahead of Independence Day celebrations
