The Karnataka high court has ordered the deportation of two Pakistani nationals, who were overstaying in Bengaluru. The two had strayed into India after their parents refused permission for their marriage. The court said India can’t afford to house such illegal immigrants as it will be a burden on the state ex-chequer.

The Rohingyas were apprehended at Churaibari along the Assam-Tripura border. According to the Assam Police, the girls came from Tripura and the middleman was helping them enter the state.

The National Register of Citizens (NRC) has been updated in Assam to identify illegal immigrants, yet it has come to light that a large number of names belonging to illegal foreigners has been allegedly added in the electoral rolls of the state. Various organisations of the state have alleged that the names of a large number of illegal Bangladeshi immigrants in the state are present in the electoral rolls.
