Human Rights  

The third Geneva Convention seeks to protect Prisoners of War. It lists out the rights of a Prisoner of War and the guidelines of which must be followed in the United Nations in order to protect human rights.

Human rights activists from Bengaluru filed a complaint against Karnataka chief minister HD Kumaraswamy for his controversial statement of asking an officer to shoot those involved in the JD(S) leader murder three days ago in Maddur.  T Narasimha Murthy a human rights activist says Karnataka should not become like UP where law and order is at stake.

The Commission has observed that the content of the newspaper reports, if true, raise a serious issue of violation of human rights of the victims.

Karnataka chief minister HD Kumaraswamy had questioned a farmer woman asking, 'Where were you sleeping these four years?” A complaint has been filed against him for this statement that has drawn flak from farmers and BJP.
 

The 193-member UN General Assembly held elections for new members to the UN Human Rights Council. The 18 new members were elected by the absolute majority through a secret ballot.
