As the joint team of forces intensified the searches and fired some warning shots towards the suspected spot, the terrorists hiding inside opened fire leading to a gunfight in which two militants have been killed
 

An encounter had broken out between terrorists and troops of 130 Battalion CRPF, 55 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) and Special Operations Group (SOG) at 2.10 AM. 
 

According to reports, the encounter broke out after a joint team of army’s 44 RR, SOG and CRPF launched a cordon and search operations in Hendow village
 

Natives of Trincomalee in Sri Lanka called for a hartal on May 10 demanding the removal of Eastern Governor MLAM Hizbullah. Protests were staged over the allegation that Hizbullah was involved in propagating terrorism in the country.
 

Terror outfits have pasted posters warning people not to send their children to Army goodwill school. These posters were reportedly seen in areas of south Kashmir. Police are trying to verify the authenticity of the poster written in Urdu but claims that terrorists in past have made a similar threat and have asked people to stay away from forces and not cooperate with them.

 

 

Three Hizbul Mujahiddin militants, including Lateef Tiger, who was the only surviving militant of the Burhan Wani group was killed in an encounter with security forces in Shopian

Officials are yet to identify the slain terrorist as the encounter is ongoing. However, sources said that he is Hizbul’s top commander Tariq Maulvi.
 

The duo was killed in a gunfight, which ensued after the Army’s Rashtriya Rifles and Kashmir Police SoG launched a cordon and search operation in Baagandar Mohalla following inputs about the presence of the militants in the area

At around 3.20 pm, the security forces, moving towards the militants' hideout, came under heavy fire. Following this, an encounter broke out between the security forces and militants.

According to the security forces, this is not something common but the fear of elimination has brought different terror outfits like Hizbul Mujahideen and Jaish-e-Mohammed together.

Farooq Ahmad Bhat alias Umar is A+ category terrorist who had joined Hizbul Mujahideen in June 2015. He is believed to have been involved in radicalising and recruiting young Kashmiris to carry out terror strikes.

During preliminary interrogation, the accused revealed that he was tasked to throw the grenade by the Kulgam commander of terrorist organisation Hizbul Mujahideen.
