Activist Rehana Fathima was arrested under IPC 295 A. She was arrested on November 27 by a team led by Pathanamthitta circle inspector for hurting religious sentiments of Ayyappa devotees.
 

Police retreated from the Piravom church after huge protests and suicide threats from devotees. Further action will be decided after Tuesday’s high court verdict, said police to media.

The Supreme Court on Friday refused to hear the Kerala government's plea challenging the high court order to appoint a monitoring committee to oversee security and other activities at the Sabarimala temple.
 

The court also advised K Surendran that he should not be involved in other similar offences later. Surendran submitted his passport to the court and also furnished a bond of Rs 2 lakh. Surendran was granted bail in all other cases too.

Monisha had applied for the post in 2016, but her application was rejected. She filed a writ petition in high court and the court ruled that she is eligible for the post.

The court also asked whether Surendran is the only member of the party and pointed that there are several cases against some of the ministers as well. The court asked this while considering Surendran's bail plea. The court postponed the hearing to Friday.

The Kerala high court has given approval for the project submitted by the Devaswom board. The focus of the survey will be on the number of trees to be cut down and the distance between concrete pillars.
 

This comes in the wake of the petition filed by Kannur native Reshma. She complained that she was not able to visit Sabarimala temple after waiting for days observing the 41-day penance.
