Anitha Kumaraswamy will be the party candidate to contest from Karnataka's Ramanagara constituency for the upcoming by-poll elections. Anitha is HD Kumaraswamy’s wife and JD(S) faces the fall of encouraging dynasty politics.

It is said that Bhavani Revanna, wife of Karnataka's PWD minister HD Revanna, is making efforts to bring in BJP MLA MP Kumaraswamy, a two-time MLA from Mudigere into the JD(S) fold. Kumaraswamy won from reserved assembly seat by defeating Congress heavyweight and former minister C Motamma.

It is said that the leaders have decided to push HD Deve Gowda's elder son HD Balakrishna Gowda from Tumkur Lok Sabha seat in Karnataka. If at all this turns true, then four from senior Gowda family will contest the Lok Sabha seat.
