Sabarimala Karma Samithi, Hindu Aikya Vedi,  Bharatiya Janata Party and the International Hindu Parishad have called for a hartal on Thursday in Kerala in protest against the entry of two women, Bindhu and Kanaka Durga, in Sabarimala.

Kerala Vyapari Vyavasayi Ekopana Samithi president T Naseeruddin said in a press conference that 2019 would be observed as an anti-hartal year. The Samithi also decided to conduct discussions with political parties seeking support over the hartal issue.

The BJP called for a hartal in the states’ capital from 6am to 6pm to protest the actions of Kerala police over the Sabarimala row. The protestors demand was that the government mediate to end the indefinite fast by the BJP leader AN Radhakrishnan in front of the secretariat.
