Governor's Rule  

According to the rules, after the proclamation, the powers of the state legislature shall be exercisable by or under the authority of the Parliament and all the decisions taken thereof shall have a concurrence of the President

Jammu and Kashmir has been under Governor's Rule since June, when the BJP ended its ruling alliance with Mufti, forcing her to resign.

The dissolution means there will be fresh elections in the state, which may take place with the Lok Sabha polls next year. The six-month tenure of the Governor's rule ends on December 18 which will be followed by President's rule.
