Goa Floods  

Hundreds have lost their lives and thousands have been displaced owing to torrential rains and floods across India. With rains predicted to worsen in the coming days, the government has ordered military teams to form rescue units.

Torrential rains affected Goa causing floods in several parts of the state. Relief work has begun after the rains have subsided and restoration work in flood affected regions have also begun in full swing.
 

Heavy rain has been predicted for Goa over the next two days and fishermen have been advised not to venture into the sea. Flood-like situation prevails after water from the Tillari dam was released.

Several people have been left stranded in various parts of Goa after rains lashed the state. Eight buses were stuck near the Goa-Karnataka border. Goa water resources minister Filipe Nery Rodrigues took note and assured people of all possible help.
