Brisk voting was reported from many places with enthusiastic voters coming to the polling stations to exercise their franchise. At the Venghnuai polling station within Aizawl South - II assembly segment, voters, including many senior citizens, were seen queuing outside the booth.

Sounding confident Tripura chief minister Biplab Deb asserted on Thursday that the entire state of Tripura will vote for Narendra Modi. 

The chief minister said Modi got residents of Tripura freedom from the left rule and, hence, they will once again vote him in.

 

Voting in the Northeast began at 21,585 polling stations including 9,574 booths in Assam, 2,201 in Arunachal Pradesh, 3,167 in Meghalaya, 2,227 in Nagaland, 1,175 in Mizoram, 1,679 in Tripura and 1,562 in Manipur
