Gandhi Jayanti 2019  

On the occasion of Mahatma Gandhi’s 150th birth anniversary, India was not the only country to pay tributes to Bapu. Countries such as France, United Arab Emirates also paid tributes to the Father of India. Burj Khalifa in Dubai was lit up with photographs of Gandhi. 
                    

Nepal unveiled its first statue of Mahatma Gandhi on his 150th birth anniversary. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is at Sabarmati ashram when India celebrates Gandhi Jayanti. 

Mani Bhavan is a place where Mahatma Gandhi stayed at while in Mumbai. Several events have been organised here in memory of the Father of the Nation.

UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres praised Mahatma Gandhi and said that he pioneered non-violent movements that changed history. Gandhi’s birth anniversary is observed as International Day of Non-Violence. 

Mahatma Gandhi was brought to life in the form of three-dimensional hologram featured in the fourth Ahimsa lecture that was held in Paris to mark the 150th birth anniversary of the ‘Father of the Nation’.
