Gallantry Awards  

On Friday, President Droupadi Murmu presented the prestigious honour Kirti Chakra to 10 brave soldiers. 26 Shaurya Chakras were also conferred during the ceremony at Rashtrapati Bhavan.

9-year-old Riyaz lost his one leg and hands in an accident when he was trying to save a little girl. Post that incident, he was invited to attend various events nationally and internationally and was honoured with several bravery awards. Despite his miserable condition, the government has not provided him with any financial assistance. He runs a general store to support his family.

According to a senior official, names of 12 Mirage 2000 pilots, who bombed a Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) terror camp in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), have been recommended for the Vayu Sena medal for gallantry.

President Ram Nath Kovind presented Gallantry Awards and Distinguished Service Decorations at the Defence Investiture Ceremony held at Rashtrapati Bhavan on Thursday where Sepoy Vrahma Pal Singh of Rajput Regiment was decorated with Kirti Chakra posthumously.
