On Sunday, Mamata Banerjee began a sit-in protest in Kolkata after a CBI team made a failed effort to question the city police commissioner Rajeev Kumar in connection with chit fund scam cases.

According to the police, many criminals are running pan-India loan syndicates targeting new entrepreneurs, start-ups and businessmen, who are looking for funds for their new ventures

With several accused in the different cases of chit fund scams close to the Bengal chief minister, chances are high that the Mamata Banerjee-led TMC was the final destination of the ill-gotten money from Saradha and Rose Valley, the money Bengal's ruling party could use in the Lok Sabha election campaign.
 

Mamata Banerjee has been staging a dharna (sit-in) against the attempts by the Central Bureau of Investigation  (CBI) to question Kolkata Police commissioner Rajeev Kumar over his alleged connection with the multi-crore Saradha and Rose Valley chit fund scams.
