French President Emmanuel Macron  

Defence minister Rajnath Singh has arrived in India after receiving the first of 36 Rafale jets in France. Singh stated that India will get seven more Rafale jets by April-May 2020. He said that the France visit was a success and that he also held a meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron for over 35 minutes.

 

Defence minister Rajnath Singh is to meet French President Emmanuel Macron in Paris on October 8 before receiving the first Rafale jet manufactured for India. Singh is likely to fly a sortie of the Indian Rafale aircraft in France on the same day.

Leaders of the group of seven nations have extended their help to Brazil battle the fire at the Amazon Rainforest. French president Emmanuel Macron, German chancellor Angela Merkel said that they will look into the reforestation of the Amazon Rainforest. Pope Francis was also one among the leaders to voice his opinion on the matter
