Forest Fire  

The state government has launched a campaign named 'Pirul Lao Paisa Le Jao' in an effort to control the raging wildfires in Uttarakhand. 

Uttarakhand's forest fires are posing a great threat to the natural land, its biodiversity, and the local communities. Several measures have been taken by the government, along with plans to use cloud seed technology to combat the growing fires. 

The fire, which broke out on April 24 in Gen A College Veng area, spread towards Serkawn and Zotlang areas of Lunglei 

More fires have broken out across the Amazon in Brazil, even as Brazillian warfare dumped water over hard-hit areas. G7 Nations joined hands in helping Brazil out of the disaster, but Brazil president rejected the offer of $22million aid.
 

Leaders of the group of seven nations have extended their help to Brazil battle the fire at the Amazon Rainforest. French president Emmanuel Macron, German chancellor Angela Merkel said that they will look into the reforestation of the Amazon Rainforest. Pope Francis was also one among the leaders to voice his opinion on the matter

A forest fire near Periyakulam area in Tamil Nadu’s Madurai has destroyed several rare trees and medicinal herbs. The locals demand action from Forest officials.
 

The National Tiger Conservation Authority (NTCA) has suggested that forest fires be declared a natural disaster. The proposal comes after the recent disaster in the Bandipur tiger reserve. In this case no one will be held responsible for causing the fire.

After Bandipur forest fire that lasted four days, Tamil Nadu’s Sathyamangalam tiger reserve is ablaze with 300 acres of forest land in danger. Forest officials believe the fire will last for two days.
 

Earlier, the Bandipur tiger reserve had lost 4500 hectares of forest land in Gopal Swamy Betta range, Karnataka.
