In Mumbai’s neighbouring Palghar district a 16-year-old boy was washed away by floods. Heavy rains led to water levels rising over tracks in some sections, resulting in the suspension of train services between Vasai and Virar towns, a Western Railway official said.

As river Krishna overflows in Belagavi, Karnataka, the war of words over CM Yediyurappa visiting Delhi on Monday (August 4) to meet the BJP top brass while the region is under stress, has begun.

The fresh casualties were reported one each from Biswanath and Morigaon districts, it said.

The GST council had permitted the state government to levy 1% cess on goods and services in Kerala to mobilise resources for rebuilding the flood-hit state. August 1, 2019 marks the first year since Kerala had been hit by floods.

Vadodara rains have brought crocodiles to the streets of the city. The city received very heavy rain on Wednesday - over 400 millimetres in just 12 hours, the weather office said. 

 
 

Rains in Vadodara have forced the airport to be shut and several trains have also been diverted. Schools and colleges have also been shut following flash floods.
