Two IndiGo flights and one Air India flight were diverted to Chennai and nearly 50 flights were delayed due to poor visibility, fog on the runway of Kempegowda International Airport on Sunday morning

IndiGo, SpiceJet and Vistara cited bad weather conditions for possible delays in arrival and departure of flights. Passengers have been asked to check flight statuses and keep enough travel time in hand. 11 trains were also delayed due to dense fog. 

Defense attorney James Amberg asked for a prison sentence of less than 10 years. He said the conviction will bring “severe and lifelong consequences” to Ramamoorthy and his wife when they return to southern India.

Prosecutors asked for a sentence of nearly 11 years, but US District Judge Terrence Berg settled on a nine-year term. He said he hoped it would be "grave enough" to deter others from committing similar crimes. A jury convicted Prabhu Ramamoorthy in August. He will be deported to India after serving his sentence
