First Phase  

Karnataka will go to polls in two phases of 14 constituencies each, on April 18 and 23.

A total of 362 candidates have filed their nominations in Karnataka in the first phase, out of which 337 are men and 25 are women candidates. Bengaluru North has highest number of candidates in Karnataka - 40 and Hassan has the least - 13 candidates.

The CEC of the BJP will begin at 6pm on Saturday where the names of candidates for all the 91 constituencies that fall in the first phase will be discussed . This will be followed by consecutive meetings on March 18 and March 22. 

A total of 687 polling stations have been categorised as "hypersensitive", including 491 in Kashmir division and 196 in Jammu division

Chhattisgarh is all set for its two-phase Assembly elections 2018. The first phase will be held on November 12 and the second phase will be held on November 20

To encourage voters to exercise their franchise, in view of the low turnout during the first phase of polling, the Election Commission has extended the voting period from 9 to 10 hours

This is the first phase of the urban local bodies polls in Jammu and Kashmir, which will be held for the first time in 13 years. Security has been tightened for the elections in 422 of the state's 1,100 municipal wards.

Elaborate security arrangements have been made by the Centre for the election, pushing in 400 companies of paramilitary forces

The work in this regard has already begun as the tender for first phase of work has been invited. The contract is expected to be finalised by the end of September.
