Makarajyothi is a star, which is worshipped by pilgrims on Makara Sankranti (Pongal) every year. It is the star Sirius located in Canis Major constellation.

One kilogram of jasmine costs Rs 3,500 and other flowers sell at an average cost Rs 2,500 per kilo. These flowers are usually priced Rs 800 per kilo. There is high demand for flowers during Pongal (Sankranti) festival.

"I have made it clear that the benefit should be available for all families, including those belonging to the above poverty line category," Narayanasamy said.

Kangana Ranaut, who has co-directed "Manikarnika" with Krish, said the film is "kind of a festive release" and both the movies can find space successfully.

The movie produced by the Sathya Jyothi Films is set to release on January 10, ahead of the Pongal festival season.

The Festival will be inaugurated by Secretary, Ministry of I&B, Shri Amit Khare at 5:30 PM on January, 04 2019.
