Encephalitis  

Gujarat faces a suspected Chandipura virus outbreak, with six child fatalities and 12 suspected cases, prompting intensive health surveillance efforts.

The amoeba is found in contaminated water and can enter the human body through the nose and cause a fatal infection. 

As of March 7, over 75% of rural households nationwide have been provided with tap water connections. This achievement includes 185 districts, 1,812 blocks, 1,00,044 Gram Panchayats, and 2,09,481 villages achieving the 'Har Ghar Jal' status.

Five more deaths have been reported due to Japanese Encephalitis (JE) in Assam, taking the death toll to 76. The registered positive JE cases across the state also increased to 348 from 334 as of Friday.

 

As many as six persons have died, and ten others have been affected by the Japanese Encephalitis (JE) in Assam. The victims are now undergoing treatment at the Jorhat Medical College Hospital in the state.
