A day after Andhra Pradesh chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy announced Rs 10 lakh as ex gratia to bereaved families, Telangana transport minister P Ajay Kumar, met the kin of those who died in the boat capsize in Godavari river.

The tourist boat capsized near Kacchuluru village in Devipatnam Mandal of the East Godavari district.

 All stranded fishermen were airlifted to safety from Polavaram by the Indian Navy's UH-3H helicopter and later shifted to their homeland Dowleswaram, East Godavari.

Floods in Godavari have inundated 30 villages in Andhra Pradesh. Warning with respect to heavy rains until August 5 has been issued.
