Drinking Water  

Water has become the new gold. To meet Bengaluru’s water demands, the Karnataka government is planning to draw water from Linganamakki reservoir in Shivamogga. But experts say it is ill-conceived and doesn’t  serve  the purpose.

Tamil Nadu chief minister’s office has refused to accept Kerala's proposal to offer water. They said no need for help at present.  
Kerala had decided to transport drinking water to Tamil Nadu through the train. 

The NITI Aayog report also states that 40% of the population, in cities like Delhi, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, will not have drinking water by 2030.

The Jal Shakti minister Gajendra Shekhawat said that providing water for every household was one of the BJP's poll promises and added that the party will work towards fulfilling it

The Prime Minister's Office has distributed work among the ministries. After a meeting with Modi, the Cabinet secretary has been asked to be on their toes to help the state governments and the Central government to ensure better coordination.
 

According to the new conditions issued by the state government the bus booking offices should have a minimum area of 150 square feet. The room should be able to accommodate at least 10 people, and must contain a toilet, cloakroom with locker facility, drinking water and CCTV system with six-month backup.

 

 Madhu's family has decided to boycott the upcoming Lok Sabha election due to lack of facilities in the village in Palakkad, Kerala. The villagers say there is no proper road, drinking water facility nor a bridge to reach their house.

There are reports that HD Kumaraswamy has asked officials of the water department to divert drinking water meant for Bengaluru to Mandya, to facilitate farmers to grow paddy crop. The move is being seen as an act of nepotism and has attracted severe criticism.

Residents of Villiseri village in Kovilpatti staged a protest demanding basic facilities in their village. They alleged that they have no drinking water facility for the last 10 years and their complaints have fallen on deaf ears.
