Dharavi  

Umesh Keelu overcame numerous obstacles and misfortunes throughout his life while ascending from the slums. On March 9, 2009, Lieutenant Umesh Keelu was promoted to the rank of officer in the Indian Army. Originating from the harsh surroundings of Dharavi, Mumbai, he has overcome many challenges and is prepared to serve his nation.
 

Maleesha Kharwa lived with her family in the slum area of Dharavi, Mumbai. A Hollywood actor noticed her during a shoot and started a crowdfunding campaign for her. Maleesha gained popularity and received modelling offers. Today, she is a star and an internet celebrity. 

 Though Maharashtra is the worst hit state in terms of coronavirus cases, Mumbai’s Dharavi—Asia’s biggest slum has managed to arrest the spread of the deadly infection and is heaping praise from all quarters
 

When asked by Karunanidhi about the problems they were facing, the unit members opened up about their desire for a school in Dharavi, which had to be closed down because of lack of funds.
