Devaswom minister Kadakampally Surendran stressed on the fact that activists, who intend to make a political point, have no place in Sabarimala. And thus the government need not protect such people, he said.

The Devaswom Board has much bigger problems to handle than the entry of menstruating women into Sabarimala. The threat of defecation in open, the capacity of sewage collection tanks that have been compromised and the problems caused by simple flower garlands confront this place in Kerala.

The Kerala government is trying to settle the Sabarimala issue through talks with the Travancore Devaswom Board.
 

Travancore Devaswom Board president A Padmakumar said, 'As far as Sabarimala is concerned, the thantri society is the parental authority. If there is any problem in Sabarimala, they will find a solution to it.' 
 

The Board has also planned to set up a new 'viripandal' (dormitory), which can accommodate at least 10,000 people, considering the influx of women devotees.

After a meeting with Kerala chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan in Thiruvananthapuram, Padmakumar told that the TDB would ask 100 acres of forest land from the Centre to provide more facilities for devotees as part of implementing the apex court order.
