A series of bomb blasts on Easter Sunday rocked Sri Lanka by killing 310 people leaving more than 500 people injured, reveals a report from the police spokesperson. The country has been placed under a state of emergency as the officials aim to maintain security with required assistance during investigations into the bombings.

The names of seven JD(S) workers who travelled to Colombo are Puttaraju and Maregowda (missing), and M Rangappa, KG Hanumantharayappa, Ramesh, Laxmi Narayan and Shivakumar, who are confirmed dead.

 

Sri Lanka saw eight blasts on Easter Sunday that killed as many as 290 people. Police defused a ninth bomb and arrested 13 people. Curfew that had been imposed indefinitely has been lifted.
