Asha Lawrence, daughter of veteran CPI(M) leader MM Lawrence, was removed from the government job after her son Milan Lawrence Emmanuel took part in the one-day fast led by BJP workers fighting the Sabarimala verdict in front of the DGP's office in Thiruvananthapuram.

CPM leader PK Kunjananthan, accused of murdering Revolutionary Marxist Party's TP Chandrasekharan, was granted parole for a whopping 389 days. The accused was also hospitalised for 45 days.
 

CPI(M) leader MM Lawrence said his grandson's participation in the BJP programme was wrong. He said Milan’s participation in the Sabarimala protest took place without his knowledge.

When Milan was asked whether his parents knew about his participation in the protest, he said that it is his personal choice to come.
