Nalini Sriharan, who is one of the convicts in the assassination of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi, has been granted an extension in parole. Her parole was to end on August 25.

One of the seven convicts in the case pertaining to the assassination of Rajiv Gandhi, Nalini Sriharan has sought an extension of her leave by a month. She was out on parole for her daughter’s wedding.

The convict, who used to drive a van to ferry schoolchildren, had raped two girls, both aged around eight then, on multiple occasions between June and December 2016. Apart from rigorous imprisonment, the Thane court also imposed a fine of Rs 28,000.
