The Pashtun leadership has called for a UN inquiry into the matter alleging that this was the latest misuse of the F-16 fighter jets, and that Pakistan has been consistently using them to harass the Pashtuns, who are not terrorists

Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorist Adil Ahmed Dar rammed his explosive-laden vehicle into a bus carrying CRPF personnel in Jammu and Kashmir's Pulwama district on Thursday, killing at least 40 jawans and injuring 50 civilians. It was the biggest terror attack on the security forces in Kashmir so far.

According to MHA data, the number of casualties has risen on all sides — security forces, civilians and terrorists — even as the forces intensify counter-terror operations and Pakistan pushes more infiltrators across the LoC and international border

The Shekatakar Committee had overall suggested a reduction of 57,000 personnel including 27,000 military men while 30,000 were supposed to be civilians
