By-elections were held for five constituencies in Karnataka - Lok Sabha by-election for Ballari, Shivamogga and Mandya whereas Assembly by-election for Jamakhandi and Ramanagara.

Tamil Nadu is all set for by-election for 20 Assembly seats. By-election for Tiruparankundram and Tiruvarur must be conducted before February 2016. But post the disqualification of MLAs, 18 constituencies have another six months for bypolls.
 

BJP candidate for Assembly by-election in Mandya, Dr Siddaramaiah was seen feeding bun to his pet dogs at  home soon after he cast his vote. 

Chandrashekhar also submitted Form 9 and announced that he has annulled Padmanabh's position as his chief election agent. Thus making sure that Padmanabh's signature on any election-related document becomes invalid with immediate effect. 

 

BJP state general secretary CT Ravi expressed his displeasure to the media in Mangaluru, Karnataka, on holding Lok Sabha by-polls in the state in November, which will not permit a full term to the candidate that wins the election.

In 2008, Anitha Kumaraswamy had won the Karnataka Assembly election from Madhugiri in Tumakuru, and in 2012 elections.

Tamil Nadu: AMMK president TTV Dhinakaran has kept his vans and members ready to plunge into vote-seeking mode for Thiruparankundram bypoll, which is yet to be announced. AIADMK is planning on door-to-door campaigns with bicycles.
