Losses in the banking, auto, IT sector and continued foreign fund outflow caused the domestic equity benchmark BSE Sensex to drop over 150 points in early session on Monday

The BSE Sensex dropped over 250 points in early trade on Thursday. “Investors can expect greater volatility in the market on the back of weekly and monthly expiration of the August futures and options (F&O) contracts”, said Shrikant Chouhan, head technical research, at Kotak Securities.
 

Traders said that easing inflation numbers, released after market hours on Tuesday, too helped the recovery in the domestic market sentiment as the broader NIFTY also gained 35.30 points and the BSE Sensex rebounded by near 300 points in early trade on Wednesday.

While the BSE Sensex domestic equity benchmark dropped over 200 points in early trade on Tuesday, Reliance Industries (RIL) capped the losses on the index by rallying over 8%

At 10.15 AM the 30-share BSE Sensex traded 189.74 points or 0.56% lower at 33,500.35, and while the wider NSE Nifty was down 69.85 points or 0.69% at 10,055.05
